EDWARD JOHN BOYECHKO
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward John Boyechko, who passed away after a short illness at St. Boniface Hospital on December 29, 2025, at the age of 85.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Kalyna Boyechko. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce; his three sons, David, Michael (Krista), and Ken; his grandchildren, Ashley, Jon, Kaiaira, Jayde, Elise and Sarah; his great-grandchild, Hailey; his sister, Mary (Bruce); his nephews, Tony, Gordon (Fiona), and Jeff; his brother-in-law, Don (Barb); as well as his many friends.
Ed spent many years living on Spence Street and attended Mulvey School and Tec-Voc School. After graduating, he worked as a machine operator before pursuing a career with Canada Post, where he worked as a letter carrier and later as a supervisor.
He was actively involved in his community, coaching his son's hockey and soccer teams at the Melrose Community Club, and was a longtime member of Club 373 Bingo Hall on Notre Dame until COVID. Ed cherished the good times spent at Northland Trailer Park in Arnes, MB, where many lasting friendships were formed. He later purchased nearby property on Woods Bay with his boys, where they built a cabin that continues to be enjoyed today.
Ed and Joyce enjoyed travelling, sharing many holidays with good friends cruising the Caribbean and Alaska, as well as numerous trips throughout Canada and the United States with family.
The family extends sincere thanks to the compassionate palliative care staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
In keeping with Edwardโs wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancercare Manitoba.

Our condolences to Joyce and family on the passing of Eddie. I first met him as a child and was impressed with the kindness and respect he and Joyce showed me. I think we played Monopoly at Joyce's family home, I later spent time with Eddie and Joyce at Forester and Club 373 functions. He was a good person.
